Dream job?
By Steve Outing on Apr 2, 2006 in Media
I’m happy toiling away at my (still under the radar for a little longer) start-up company, the Enthusiast Group. But if that weren’t the case, I’d be thinking seriously about applying for this job at the New York Times Co.: futurist for its new Research & Development group.
Job requirements: “The ideal candidate will be highly imaginative and well-informed about the social and technology trends affecting the creation, distribution and consumption of all forms of media now and in the future. We are looking for someone who has an innate curiosity and a passion for new ideas; someone with a facility for market research data and who can use that data to vividly paint a picture of how the world around us is evolving.”
Is that you? Send Christine Mohan a resume.
(Actually, I wouldn’t apply if the job required working in NYC. Now, if I could work from Boulder …)

Hi Steve,
There were plans last month to offer Sun readers MySpace pages under a \"MySun\" banner. Apparently The TImes (UK) was considered initially but The Sun\'s profile was thought to fit MySpace better.

Oh and I should add, here is a selection of readers blogs from France\'s newspaper Le Nouvel Observateur: It\'s interesting how they\'ve incorporated readers blogs into their site alongside their journalists\' work:
