Bloggers hit the mainstream: LexisNexis
By Steve Outing on Apr 5, 2006 in Blogging, Media
LexisNexis, a leading news and information database service, has announced that it’s adding blog content into its database for professional researchers.
That’s significant news, folks. You could argue, What took them so long? But finally, the mainstream is acknowledging that content from (some) bloggers is credible and worthy of being included in the mainstream.
LexisNexis is used by many news librarians and reporters during story research, so having blog content as part of the results should be a useful journalistic tool. … Of course, any reporter who has a clue is already using Technorati and other blog search engines to seek out blog content when researching a topic.
