Rockin’ for cit-journalism

Non-profit citizen-journalism site Chi-Town Daily News (serving Chicago) is trying something innovative to support itself: It’s hosting an indie-rock concert on June 15, featuring three bands that have been featured on the website in recent months. Proceeds from ticket sales ($10 each) will go to support the website’s efforts.

Music fund-raisers are a tried-and-true way for non-profits to raise money, so this is a nice idea. It’s the first I’ve heard of a citJ operation doing it, though.
