   Some people want a huge network of \"friends\" on social networks; it gives them a sense of status in the online world. Others, particularly journalists and authors, create huge friend lists in order to have access to a decent pool of sources.

   I tend to \"friend\" people I know, friends of friends and folks who share a common interest. The rest I reject without prejudice.
